生物与化学工程学院是浙江科技学院最早建立的学科院系之一,自1980年浙江大学附属杭州工业专科学校化工系创办以来,依托与浙江大学的教学和科研紧密纽带关系,依托20余年中德合作办学,秉承了浙江大学“求是”精神和办学理念,借鉴了德国应用科学大学(FH)高等工程教育办学经验,在28年的发展历程中,倡导科学精神,培植人文素养,孕育和谐心灵,激发创新思维,凝练和培育了“科学、人文、和谐、创新”生化学院文化和精神。
按照科学发展观和党的教育方针,传承中国传统教育“实学”理念,结合国际、国内高等工程教育发展实际,遵照学校培养“国际化背景的高层次应用型人才”的目标,依照生化学院文化精神,创新提出并实践了“实学实效”工程教学理念,强化“三基”培养,造就“三实”人才。突出“四大建设”,努力追求“四个目标”,融入浙江,主动服务浙江省先进制造业和现代科技农业两大主导产业,培养第一线的做人实在、做事实干、做学问实用的“三实”现代工程师人才,同时成为应用科研、成果转化与产业化贡献、社会服务的重要创新创业基地。
学院现有在校全日制本科学生1127人,全院设有 “化学工程与工艺”、“食品科学与工程”、“生物工程”、“制药工程”、“材料科学与工程”等5个系,设有“化学工程研究所”、“食品科学与工程研究所”等5个研究机构和“浙江科技学院——新安化工可再生能源研发中心”等6个产学研联合研发中心。拥有浙江省农产品化学与生物加工技术重点实验室、浙江省重点学科“应用化学”学科、校级重点学科“食品科学”学科和校级研究所“浙江科技学院农产品化学与生物加工研究所”。
生化学院化学工程与工艺、食品科学与工程、生物工程、制药工程、材料科学与工程等五个专业是基于相同原理和过程工程基础上、相互交叉、相互融合的近化类工科专业,学科交叉特色特别明显,以农产品加工化学化工技术和生物技术的学科优势特色初步形成。
生化学院现有教职工68人,专任教师57人,具有高级职称29人,其中正高职11人,博士21人,在职博士11人,具有德国、英国、日本等海外背景教师11人,具有企业工程师背景教师23人。拥有浙江省重点学科应用化学学科带头人、国务院特殊津贴获得者、浙江省高校中青年学科带头人、浙江省151第二、第三层次人才、校优秀青年骨干教师等19人。聘请了国内外知名学者、企业高管等兼职/客座教授50余人。
生化学院拥有省财政资助高校实验室重点项目“生物化学工程技术实验室”、省财政资助高校实验室项目“基础化学化工实验室”,设有生化学院实验中心,下设7个基础和专业建制实验室。实验室总面积3698平方米,配备有荧光光谱、高效液相色谱、气相色谱、紫外可见分光光度计、红外光谱、原子吸收等大型仪器设备,仪器总价值591万元以上。
几年来生化学院主持和承担国家科技部转化基金项目、国家教育部重点科研项目、国家级重点星火计划项目、浙江省重大科技攻关项目、省长基金重大专项、杭州市重大招标项目、浙江省重点科技计划项目、浙江省自然科学基金项目及重大横向产业化开发项目等项目100余项,年科研经费500万元。
生物与化学工程学院为浙江省化工学会、浙江省食品学会等学会常务理事单位、浙江省食品工业协会、浙江省食品添加剂工业协会等协会理事单位,浙江省化工学会生物化工专业委员会、浙江省食品添加剂工业协会技术专家委员会等委员会副主任委员单位,浙江省肉制品工业协会专家组成员,浙江省农产品深加工(食品)重大科技攻关专项专家组成员等等。
08年度毕业生有化学工程与工艺专业、食品科学与工程专业、生物工程专业、制药工程专业、材料科学与工程专业等各60到90人。
浙江科技学院生物与化学工程学院院长毛建卫教授:浙江省农产品化学与生物加工技术重点实验室主任、浙江省重点学科应用化学学科带头人、浙江省优秀教师、浙江省151第二层次人才、浙江省农产品深加工(食品)重大科技攻关专项专家组成员、浙江省化工学会常务理事、省化工学会生物化工专业委员会副主任委员、浙江省食品添加剂工业协会专家委员会副主任委员、浙江省食品工业协会理事、生化学院准工程师协会总顾问等。近几年在国内外和国际会议等发表研究论文和著作五十多篇(部),在大型企业和高校工作中,作为第一主持人主持承担过二十多项国家和省部级理论研究课题和工业化技术项目;包括国家教育部重点科学研究项目、国家级重点星火计划项目、国家科技部计划项目、浙江省重大科技攻关项目、浙江省自然科学基金项目、浙江省重点科技计划项目、重大横向产业化项目等。
The School of Biological and Chemical Engineering was established on the basis of the Department of Biological and Chemical Engineering which was one of the earliest founded departments in Zhejiang University of Science and Technology. The school holds 1,127 on-campus students at present and has developed into 5 degree programs including ‘Chemical Engineering and Technology’, ‘Food Science and Engineering’, ‘Biological Engineering’, ‘Pharmaceutical Engineering’, and ‘Materials Science and Engineering’. There are 1 Provincial Key Lab,5 research institutes and 6 joint research centers. They are Zhejiang Provincial Key Lab for Chem & Bio Processing Technology of Agricultural Products , ‘Research Institute of Fine Chemicals’, ‘Research Institute of Food Science and Engineering’, ‘Research Institute of Biological Engineering’, ‘Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Engineering’, ‘Research Institute of Functional Materials’, ‘Research Center of Analysis and Test’, ‘ZUST- XinAn Chemical Joint Research Center of Functional Biological Products’, ‘ZUST – HangZhou HuaDan Joint Research Center of Mushroom’, ‘ZUST – HuaXian Paint Joint Research Center of Surface Technology’ and etc.. The course of ‘Applied Chemistry’ is a key subject supported by Zhejiang Government while ‘Food Engineering’ is a university-level key subject.
The school attaches much importance to cross-subject education upon a thorough consideration that the five programmes are based on same chemical principles and process engineering, which makes a distinctive quality of the instruction of the School of Biological and Chemical Engineering and help to promote the initial combination of the application of chemical technology and biological technology based on agricultural product processing.
At present, there are 68 staffs in total with 57 teachers. There are 29 senior title staffs, with 11 professors or senior engineers;there are 21 doctors,11 on-job Ph.D candidates, and 11 staffs with overseas educational background and 23 staffs with years of working experience of enterprises. The school also invited over 50 home and overseas university professors or engineers to be visiting professors.
The school of Biological and Chemical Engineering has been equipped with biochemical labs which are supported by provincial finance government, as well as basic chemistry and chemical engineering labs. The overall area of labs is about 4000 sq.m. The school labs have been equipped with HPLC, Gas Chromatography, ultraviolet spectrometer, infrared spectrometry, Fluorescence Spectroscopy, atomic absorption and amino acid analyzer etc. The total value of the equipment exceeds RMB 8 million Yuan.
In recent years, the School of Biological and Chemical Engineering has directed and undertaken over 100 research projects, for instance, Transforming Gene Project for the Ministry of Science and Technology, Key Scientific Research Project for the Ministry of Education, the State Torch Project, Zhejiang Province’ Important Science and Technology Tackled Project, Project for Natural Science Foundation of Zhejiang Province and Important Transverse Industrial Development Project etc. The annual scientific research fund reaches RMB 5 million Yuan.
The School of Biological and Chemical Engineering is the executive council member unit of Zhejiang Provincial Chemical Industry and Engineering Society and Zhejiang Provincial Food Society. It is also the member of Zhejiang Provincial Food Industrial Society and Zhejiang Provincial Food Addictives Industrial Society. In addition, the school is the expert team member of Zhejiang Provincial Meet Products Industrial Society and Zhejiang Provincial Agricultural Products’ Deep Processing Society.
In 2007, there are 60 to 90 graduates in each degree grogrammes of Food Engineering, Biological Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering and Chemical Engineering.
